New Website Launch: DOC'S Tours — Building a Tourism Platform That Connects Inspiration, Information, and Bookings
The Client
DOC'S Tours is a premium tour operator specialising in golf, music, and sightseeing experiences across Ireland and Scotland, with a particular focus on the US travel market. Founded by Dennis O'Carroll — whose passion for golf, Irish hospitality, and travel is the DNA of the business — DOC'S Tours has built a reputation for expertly curated group travel experiences that combine world-class destinations with hands-on, personalised service.
Dennis leads every tour personally. That level of direct involvement, combined with deep local knowledge of Ireland and Scotland, is what sets DOC'S Tours apart in a crowded market. Guests are not handed off to anonymous local operators — they travel with the person who designed the itinerary.
The company is a member of IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators), and its tour portfolio spans golf experiences across the west coast of Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, St Andrews, Northern Ireland, and England, alongside music and sightseeing tours covering Ireland's cultural highlights, festivals, and landscapes. Tours are structured for groups of discerning travellers — typically 6 to 16 guests — with premium accommodation, private transport, and fully managed logistics throughout.
The Brief
DOC'S Tours needed a website that could do two things simultaneously: inspire potential travellers and support the commercial booking journey. Those are related objectives but they require different things from a website, and most tourism sites optimise for one at the expense of the other.
The brief was to build a platform that:
- Showcases the experience — premium destination imagery, clearly structured tour content, and enough space for each itinerary to communicate the quality and uniqueness of what DOC'S Tours delivers
- Drives conversions — clear calls-to-action, visible availability and pricing information, social proof, and a direct route from discovering a tour to making an enquiry or booking
- Integrates with WeTravel — DOC'S Tours already manages its tours through WeTravel, a specialist booking and tour management platform. The website needed to pull tour information from WeTravel directly, so the team would not be maintaining the same content independently in two places
- Performs in AI and organic search — a content strategy built around both conventional SEO and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), structured so that modern AI-powered search and answer platforms can accurately surface DOC'S Tours content in response to relevant queries
- Converts across all devices — with the understanding that international travellers frequently discover a tour on mobile before researching the itinerary in detail on a desktop, the site needed to perform at full quality across every screen size
The Process
The project was a genuine collaboration between Dennis and the Motion Monsters team throughout the design and development phase. A strong brief, clear content decisions, and iterative review at each stage kept the build tight and the content accurate.
Key decisions made during the process:
WeTravel integration was one of the most important structural choices in the project. Rather than duplicating tour content across two systems, the website was built to pull relevant tour information directly from WeTravel. Tour updates — dates, pricing, availability, itinerary details — can be synchronised with the site through WeTravel's visibility and categorisation settings. This removes a significant ongoing content management burden from the DOC'S Tours team and ensures the website always reflects current tour information.
Tour filtering was built on the homepage and tour listing page, allowing visitors to filter by destination, duration, and travel style — returning relevant results without requiring them to scroll through the full catalogue. This is particularly important for the US market, where potential travellers often have a specific destination or experience type in mind before they begin researching.
Video was integrated via YouTube hosting, avoiding the performance penalty of serving large video files through the website directly while supporting DOC'S Tours' wider video and search presence across platforms.
Conversion elements were reviewed and refined throughout development — CTA placement, availability information, testimonials and trust signals, enquiry routes, and the overall journey from first discovery to first contact.
The site was built on WordPress with Elementor, designed responsively for desktop, tablet, and mobile, and launched in 2026.
What Was Built
Homepage
The homepage opens with a full-screen hero: "Experience Ireland Beyond the Ordinary" — immediately establishing the premium positioning and the primary destination. A tour filter sits directly below — searchable by destination (Dingle, Dublin, Galway, Ireland, Killarney, Scotland, Shannon), duration (6, 7, 8, and 11 nights), and travel style (Golf Tours, Music Tours, Sightseeing) — getting returning and intent-led visitors to the right tour fast.
From there, the homepage moves through:
- Featured Tours — Golf, Music, and Sightseeing categories, each with destination imagery and a direct link to the relevant tour listing
- Why Choose Us — Local Irish experts, handpicked luxury tours, and 24/7 customer support, with a link to the full About page
- Video section — highlights reel embedded via YouTube
- Contact / enquiry form — full name, email, phone, tour of interest, message
- Newsletter signup — tour updates, music festival news, and exclusive travel experiences
- IAGTO membership mark — trust signal in the footer for the golf travel market
Golf Tours
The golf tour listing currently features eight packages:
- DOC'S Escorted England Golf Tour — May 2027, 7 nights, 8 rounds, luxury accommodation
- Scottish Highlands Golf Package — 7 nights, 7 rounds, Edinburgh to the Highlands
- Ayrshire and St Andrews Golf Package — 7 nights, 7 rounds, Prestwick and St Andrews
- North of Ireland Golf Experience — 7 nights, 7 rounds, Northern Ireland links
- Best of the West Ireland Golf Package — 7 nights, 7 rounds, west coast of Ireland
- Scotland and Ireland Luxury Golf Experience — 11 nights, 11 rounds, private group
- Open Trip 2027 — 7 nights, 6 rounds, southwest Ireland links, from €6,155
- Bucket List Southwest of Ireland Golf Package — 8 days, southwest Ireland
Each tour listing includes a photo carousel, dates, duration, accommodation and transport details, pricing where applicable (with deposit information), and an enquiry form. Enquiry-led tours allow Dennis to work directly with clients on tailored group itineraries.
Music Tours
Music tour experiences covering authentic Irish music events, live performances, pub sessions, and festival moments. Presented with the same page structure as golf tours — imagery, itinerary, enquiry route.
Sightseeing
Scenic and cultural experiences across Ireland's landscapes, historic landmarks, coastlines, castles, and hidden gems. Structured to complement golf or music tours for guests extending their stay.
About
Dennis's story and DOC'S Tours' founding philosophy, with a clear articulation of what makes the offering different: personalised service, carefully curated itineraries, local knowledge and expertise, premium accommodation and transport partners, seamless logistics, small groups, and a track record built on repeat guests and personal recommendations.
Videos
A dedicated video page hosted via YouTube — keeping the site fast while building the DOC'S Tours content library across the platform.
FAQs and Blog
A structured FAQ section supports both the visitor experience and the AEO content strategy — giving AI-powered search platforms clearly formatted answers to the queries potential travellers are most likely to ask. A blog section provides a platform for ongoing content development.
The Result
The new docsgolftours.com is a premium, conversion-focused tourism platform that accurately reflects the quality of the DOC'S Tours experience.
The WeTravel integration is the structural decision that sets this site apart from a standard tourism build. Tour information managed in WeTravel flows through to the website automatically — no duplication, no risk of the site showing outdated pricing or availability, no manual updates required each time a tour is adjusted. For a business managing a live portfolio of group tours across multiple countries, that is a significant operational advantage.
The AEO content strategy positions DOC'S Tours to perform not just in Google's traditional organic results but in the AI-generated answers increasingly appearing at the top of search results for travel queries. Structured FAQ content, clearly formatted tour information, and destination-specific content give AI search platforms exactly what they need to surface DOC'S Tours accurately and authoritatively.
For Dennis and the DOC'S Tours team, the result is a platform that works as hard as the tours themselves — inspiring visitors, answering their questions, and converting interest into enquiries.

New Website Launch: DOC'S Tours — Building a Tourism Platform That Connects Inspiration, Information, and Bookings
DOC'S Tours is a premium tour operator founded by Dennis O'Carroll, specialising in golf, music, and sightseeing experiences across Ireland and Scotland for international travellers, with a particular focus on the US market. Dennis leads every tour personally, bringing hands-on expertise and deep local knowledge to every itinerary. DOC'S Tours is a member of IAGTO, the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
DOC'S Tours needed a premium tourism platform capable of doing two things simultaneously: inspiring potential travellers through destination imagery and experience-focused content, and supporting the commercial booking journey through clear tour listings, pricing, availability information, and direct enquiry routes. The challenge was building a site that serves both objectives without compromising either.
The site was built on WordPress using Elementor as the page builder — a flexible, scalable platform that allows DOC'S Tours to expand the site as the tour portfolio grows, add blog content, and manage the experience without ongoing developer dependency.
WeTravel is a specialist booking and tour management platform used by tour operators to manage group travel. DOC'S Tours already used WeTravel to manage its tours. Rather than requiring the team to maintain the same tour information independently on both WeTravel and the website, the site was built to pull relevant tour data directly from WeTravel. Tour updates — dates, pricing, availability — can be synchronised with the website through WeTravel's categorisation settings, eliminating duplication and keeping the site accurate at all times.
DOC'S Tours offers three categories of experience: Golf Tours across Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and England; Music Tours covering authentic Irish music events, live performances, and pub sessions; and Sightseeing experiences across Ireland's landscapes, landmarks, coastlines, and cultural highlights. Golf tours range from 6 to 11 nights and include premium accommodation, private transport, and full logistics management.
AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimisation — the practice of structuring website content so that AI-powered search platforms (including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity) can accurately identify and surface a business in response to relevant queries. For a tourism company targeting international travellers who increasingly use AI tools to research and plan trips, AEO is as important as traditional SEO. The DOC'S Tours site was built with structured FAQ content, clearly formatted tour and destination information, and an ongoing blog strategy to support both.
The tour filter on the homepage and tour listing page allows visitors to search by destination (Dingle, Dublin, Galway, Ireland, Killarney, Scotland, Shannon), duration (6, 7, 8, or 11 nights), and travel style (Golf Tours, Music Tours, or Sightseeing). This is particularly valuable for the US market, where potential travellers typically arrive with a specific destination or experience type in mind and want to reach relevant results quickly without scrolling through the full catalogue.
Serving large video files directly through a website creates significant performance issues — slower load times, higher hosting costs, and a worse experience on mobile and slower connections. YouTube hosting allows DOC'S Tours to embed high-quality video without any of those penalties, while simultaneously building the company's presence on YouTube and supporting wider search visibility through the platform.
The site was built responsively for desktop, tablet, and mobile from the ground up. This was a priority because international travellers frequently discover a tour on a mobile device — through a social media post, a search result, or a recommendation — before researching the itinerary in greater detail or making an enquiry on a desktop. The mobile experience needed to be fully functional and visually compelling, not a stripped-down version of the desktop site.
Three things. First, the WeTravel integration means tour information is managed in one system and flows to the website automatically — a structural advantage that most tourism sites do not have. Second, the AEO content strategy is built for AI-powered search, not just Google's traditional algorithm — a critical distinction as more travellers use AI tools to plan and research trips. Third, the conversion strategy was reviewed in detail throughout the build — CTA placement, trust signals, enquiry routes, and the full journey from first visit to first contact — rather than being treated as an afterthought.
Yes. The DOC'S Tours project demonstrates the team's ability to handle the specific requirements of premium tourism web design — destination-led visual storytelling, live booking system integration, tour catalogue management, multi-device performance, and a content strategy built for both SEO and AI search visibility. Motion Monsters works with tourism operators, hospitality businesses, and experience providers who need a website that converts, not just one that looks good.
